Reservation Deposits
We require a 50% deposit to reserve your room(s). You will receive a confirmation e-mail, or phone call when your deposit has been processed. We normally process your deposit approximately two weeks before your check-in date. If you don't receive a confirmation e-mail or phone call from us please contact us. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Cash for all reservations. Reservations made at least two weeks in advance may also be secured with Checks or Money Orders if payment is sent promptly. These unsecured reservations will be held up to three business days pending receipt of payment.
Cancellations
We understand that plans can suddenly change. We ask our future guests to please let us know as soon as possible if they need to cancel a reservation.
Refund of deposits
- Two Weeks Notice:
A full refund will be made if notice of cancellation is given at least 14 days in advance of the reservation date(s).
- One Week Notice:
A $25.00 late cancellation fee per day will be charged against the deposit if cancellation is made with more than sixbut less than 14days advance notice.
- 48 Hours Notice:
A conditional deposit refund minus the $25.00 late cancellation fee will be made if the cancellation is made with more than twobut less than seven days advance notice and the room(s) can be re-booked for the dates in question. We will make a serious effort but we can't guarantee that the room(s) can be re-booked with such short notice. If the reservations cannot be filled, we reserve the right to retain the full deposit.
- Less than 48 hours, no-shows, or early departures:
This situation is not fair to other prospective guests, nor would it be fair to us. Under these circumstances, unless there is some dire emergency, there can be no refund of deposit.
Check-in
Check-in is between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. We need to know approximately when you'll arrive for check-in in order to be sure that we're available to welcome you. If you anticpate the need for a late check-in, please let us know so that we can make appropriate arangements. When you arrive at Shining Dawn for check-in you will find that all outside doors are locked. Come to the front door on Broadway and ring the bell. The button is on the right side of the door. Once you ring the bell we will be on our way to welcome you, so please be patient. Check-out time is by 11 a.m.
Smoking, Candles, Incense
We are a non-smoking Inn. For your safety we have installed an extremely sensitive, monitored fire detection system throughout the Inn. Smoking or burning of anything (candles, matches, etc.) by guests is not allowed inside the Inn, on the back porch, or the guest porch. Smoking is allowed on the front porch, or in the back yard.
We also do not allow the use of electric candles or any other devices which emit strong, lingering fragrances.
Children and Pets
We welcome respectful, polite, and courteous children ages five and older. We cannot accommodate pets.
Occupancy
All rates quoted are for double occupancy. Many of the rooms have additional sleeping capacity at the rate of $25 per each additional guest per night. In addition, several of our guest rooms can be configured into two, or three room suites. Unrelated guests staying in the same room must be at least 18 years of age. Please contact us for details.
Breakfast
Breakfast is generally served at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. daily. When making your reservation please let us know if you have special dietary requirements that you would like us to take into consideration.
